Yes, we take a deposit of 30% of the total, the balance should be paid 5 days before arrival.
We are very flexible with our check in days and you can rent from any day to the same day the following week, with arrival no earlier than 16:00 and departure no later than 10:00 on the chosen day. This allows us to make sure the accommodation is well serviced and cleaned ready for our next guests.
If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please get in touch as soon as possible. We may be able to refund some or all of the cost of your stay if we are able to re-fill the accommodation during that week.
Pets are accepted, at a modest charge of £10 each. Preferable small, well behaved, no hair shedding varieties! They are permitted to chase, but not catch, the pheasants, and run the risk of being shot at if they chase the sheep.
Of the feathered kind. Snipe, woodcock, grouse (2 brace on a good day!) buzzard, kestrel, peregrine, greater spotted and green woodpecker, the occasional sea eagle, tree creeper and a myriad of common small birds.
Red squirrels are edging closer, roe deer, hedgehogs, frogs, fox, stoat and weasel may all be seen (or not). Sheep and cows are fairly readily spotted in the fields and there will be (for obvious reasons) a bull here and there.
The cost is 20% of the weekly charge per night, with a minimum of 3 nights. You may stay for a shorter period, but must pay for 3 nights.
Leave M90 at Junction 5, go East then South following the signs for Cowdenbeath. About 1 mile after leaving the M90 there is a left turn marked Ballingry and Lochore. Follow this road for 1½ miles and the drive is on your right. It has a tarmac entrance, low wall and pillars. Once through the pillars bear left over the bridge and then bear right over the second bridge and past the pond. A short drive will bring you to the Steading. The main house is a little further on and is visible from the Steading. O.S. Ref NT 157965
